Website to help Ukrainian integration

The Dublin City Ukraine Response Community Noticeboard website launches today

9th November 2022   Lord Mayor of Dublin Caroline Conroy launched the Dublin City Ukraine Response Community Noticeboard website – www.DublinCityUkraineResponse.ie at a reception in The Mansion House today.

The Dublin City Ukraine Response Community Noticeboard is designed to assist displaced persons from Ukraine in Dublin City to stay updated and connected to their local community by providing access to information about services, activities and events happening locally.

This project is run by Dublin City Volunteer Centre with the support of Dublin City Council Housing and Community Services and Dublin City Local Community Development Committee (LCDC).

Lord Mayor Caroline Conroy commented, “The website is a great idea as it is a one stop shop for all the information that you may need when you come to a new country and when you’re trying to find your feet, it’s a great way of making contacts in a country that you are not sure of.”

She continued about the potential for the website, “I could see it being rolled out for other communities that are already existing in Dublin or coming to our country.”

Dr Dáithí Downey, Chief Officer, Dublin City Council’s Local Community Development Committee, said, “The Dublin City Ukraine Response Community Noticeboard has been established to inform and include Ukrainians living in Ireland. Migrants and organisations in Dublin, statutory and non statutory, community and voluntary groups will have the opportunity to reach a wide network and create new connections as well as access to educational, welfare, volunteering, news, and events resources.“

Franzi O’Donnell, Dublin City Volunteer Centre’s Manager said, “The website is available in a couple of different languages to allow people to access the information in their own language. The website is a platform for all sorts of organisations in Dublin, statutory and non statutory, community and voluntary groups who are offering service and activities that could be of interest to newly arrived people. We invite you to list your service or events by going  directly to the website and posting it there.”

She continued, “The Dublin City Ukraine Response Community Noticeboard is an initiative that came from the Ukrainian Community Response Forum, a group made up of Dublin City Council, Dublin City Volunteer Centre, Health Service Executive, TUSLA, Education Training Board, various Partnerships that work with disadvantaged communities, An Garda Síochána, the Civil Defence as well as many others. I hope that this platform will allow for increased integration in Ireland.”
