What affects men affects mankind

The greatest obstacle that prevents People of African Descent from equal participation in societal, cultural, diversity and inclusion issues is the platform to express themselves. Events that aim to create awareness and highlight issues that People of African Descent are experiencing in Ireland are all in an educational and or business setup, this may include but are not limited to, conferences, talks, information campaign, and workshops.  People prefer an informal platform where they can meet new people with whom they can share their experiences and or themselves speak out without being judged.  We are using this music event as a platform to bring communities together, once individuals come out for a musical show they are in a more relaxed atmosphere and music makes it easier for them to open up, create networks and or build awareness to tackle societal issues especially that of Mental Health.

Men don’t talk and that’s how they are taught to be men in Africa and internalize everything, on the same token Women were never taught how to create an environment/atmosphere for a man to open up on issues affecting them.  In this event we are calling upon especially People of African Descent to participate and build awareness on issues affecting men.  Let’s be the change we want to see and reassure those suffering from mental health that there is a place for people like you. Mental health issues affect the community, it is topical on the list of societal issues so let’s come together in Music, dance and fight the stigma associated with Mental Health.

PLEASE NOTE:  This is not a men’s only event its for all hence the title “WHAT AFFECTS MEN AFFECTS MANKIND”
